I have to ask…in what way is it a political issue? Do you have some people (militant anti-breast feeders?) telling mothers to stop if they attempt to breastfeed in public? I don’t get it.

On his political/comedy show “Real Time” Bill Maher recently attacked women for breastfeeding in public. He even blamed the war in Iraq on nursing moms.

…this isn’t really about women taking their breasts out in public, as much as I’d like it to be. It’s about how petty and parochial our causes have become, how activism has become narcissism. . . It’s why there’ll be no end to this dumb war until there is a draft. Because, at the end of the day, Iraq is somebody else’s problem.

Oh, the fact that public breastfeeding is an issue in the US pisses me off. I mean, what are people thinking!? Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I have breastfed my son in public many times here in Dalian and I have not had any problems. In fact, I have done the same during our visits in the US too.

What Bill Maher said was very stupid.
