On one of the first Sunday mornings at our new home Will and I went strolling around. We passed a Victorian house with a small crowd out on the porch. They asked us to join them, and eager to meet our new neighbors, we did. Turned out many of us had gone to the same college (SJC). The hosts set up camp and offered coffee and books to share. Another neighbor brought strawberries. It was a great moment, and they convinced me to take Gilead. I meant to read it myself, but with lots of books ahead of it on my bedside table, I decided you might enjoy it. If Josh doesn't get to it, maybe I'll have my turn.
