Is there no limit to the distances Texans will go to spread their bullshit? Wow. That makes my kosher-neocon-Ann-Coulter-loving dinner party look like no big deal. You get high marks for politeness in the face of insanity.

This year for Halloween I was pretty worn out from traveling for work, so just made the most of a night home with Will. We watched "The Wicker Man," not the new Nick Cage version, but the old Scottish one. It's pretty awesome, but don't show it to your collegue. Might justify her theories, on Northern people if not Halloween.

And we actually got trick-or-treaters! Will thought I was silly for getting candy and lighting little orange candles but lo, we got enough kids to almost clean us out. It felt so adult. I don't think I'm ready for it. I belonged across the Potomac, at a bar making fun of Georgetown students.

Hello E & J! i have spent the past hours reading some of your writings, watching you dance, seeing previews... this is a great site! Thanks for keeping it up!

As for Halloween, it makes me sad that the audience missed a great opportunity to discuss Ghost Stories, bobbing for apples, masks, witches and Spin the Bottle. Oh well!
(Our block in the city is always crammed with costumed children from other neighborhoods. I had to turn out our lights early this year!)

We see Betty & Bart a good bit; he was a lifesaver in the mad scramble to prepare our house for Eliza & Christopher's wedding! Betty is always such great company and pitches in with that wonderful humor of hers.

All our best, Emily & Will
